Is snoring dangerous?
Snoring generally sounds a bit breathy. The heavy vibration that occurs whenever an individual is taking a nap is what produces the snore sound.
For the large number of cases, it’s usually harmless. But when the snorer is waking up most of the night due to shortage of oxygen, accompanied by snoring – this might be an indication of something much more serious that may require a doctor’s attention.
Why does snoring occur?
Snoring may occur from a deviated septum, sleep apnea, or as simple as becoming too intoxicated.
In most of the occasions, it develops whenever the uvula drops in the back of the throat – obscuring the passage of oxygen.
This doesn’t stop the lungs from demanding air – so the person will start to breath much deeper and power the oxygen through.
This causes the uvula to vibrate which is that sound most are accustomed to.
Attributes such as growing older, obesity, alcohol might all bring about to snoring.
