Snore Causes and Conditions

Is snoring dangerous?

Snoring generally sounds a bit breathy. The heavy vibration that occurs whenever an individual is taking a nap is what produces the snore sound.
For the large number of cases, it’s usually harmless.  But when the snorer is waking up most of the night due to shortage of oxygen, accompanied by snoring – this might be an indication of something much more serious that may require a doctor’s attention.

Why does snoring occur?
Snoring may occur from a deviated septum, sleep apnea, or as simple as becoming too intoxicated.
In most of the occasions, it develops whenever the uvula drops in the back of the throat – obscuring the passage of oxygen.
This doesn’t stop the lungs from demanding air – so the person will start to breath much deeper and power the oxygen through.
This causes the uvula to vibrate which is that sound most are accustomed to.

Attributes such as growing older, obesity, alcohol might all bring about to snoring.

Snoring Remedies: Correcting Snoring

Snoring does not only have a direct effect on the quality of your sleep but indirectly to the quality of sleep of the people around you. I once worked in a company that operated for twenty four hours and we were working on shifts. For safety purposes, the owners built sleeping quarters designed for those who will be logging out in the wee hours of the morning and instead of traveling immediately, they can nap until dawn and then start traveling home when the sun is already up. There was this individual who snored as loud as an airport on Christmas Eve and soon everyone stopped taking naps because they could not do so with the amazingly deafening snoring noise. And management had to send the guy for proper medical treatment.

Snoring can lead to lack of the proper amount of sleep and eventually fatigue, stress, and irritability. And possibly even expulsion from your own room if you are sleeping with a partner. There are a lot of snoring remedies that one suffering from it can apply and sleeping in another room is not one of them. And determining the right snoring remedies for you can open the door to a lot of positive things especially the improvement of your health and your interaction with other people.

First off, before you find the appropriate snoring remedies for you, ascertain the cause of your snoring primarily. One of the main reasons why people snore is because of too much floppy tissues and this pertains to the nasal and throat tissues. If there are plenty of these “floppy” tissues, more are also prone to vibrate. The tongue and its position while you sleep can also be a contributing factor in a person’s snoring problems. Knowing what the cause of your snoring problem is half the battle.

One of the major snoring remedies is to reduce your body weight. Obesity or packing too much weight is the leading cause of snoring because the air in the lungs is blocked in the throat section, hence snoring occurs when sleeping. Regular exercise can actually unblock the nasal passages and assist in better breathing and eventually less snoring.
